INGREDIENTS:
Cake:

  • ½ cup butter, softened
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 ½ tsp cinnamon
  • 4 apples peeled and cut into 1-inch chunks (Granny Smith or green apples work well)
  • 1 cup chopped pecans (optional)
 
Caramel Sauce:
  • ¼ cup butter
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup sugar
  • ½ cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • pinch of salt

DIRECTIONS:
Cake:

  1. Preheat oven to Bake at 350⁰ F.
  2. Place Fluted bon Mold on Perforated Baking Sheet and set aside.
  3. In a large bowl cream together butter and sugar, then mix eggs in well.
  4. Slowly add flour, baking soda, salt and cinnamon, stir just until blended.
  5. Then add apples and stir. Pour into mold.
  6. Bake for 50-70 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean. Cool thoroughly. Turn out onto cake plate. Top with Caramel Sauce.  
 
Caramel Sauce:     
  1. Bring all ingredients to gentle boil or in Small Round Mold microwave (or in heavy saucepan).
  2. Boil 3-4 minutes (or 6-7 minutes in saucepan). Remove from heat and cool 5 minutes. Pour over cooled cake.
  3. Optional: Use Pastry Bag and star tip to decorate with whipped cream or cream cheese frosting.
bon TIP: Skip peeling the apples and use the Eco Chop to dice them. One less step, so much faster and just as delicious!
